Bain while Director of Maintenance and Engineering (1941-1955), which relate to a variety of subjects including types of aircraft, aircraft components, minutes of staff meetings, and files of a general operational nature (Vols. 396-410, 411 (part).

Trans-Canada Air Lines. Engineering Division : Engineering was the responsibility of one of nine staff officers whose duties were to advise the Vice-President, Operations, on technical matters. Initially created as an independent department in 1943, by 1948 it had become a division reporting to the Operations Branch. In 1970, the Engineering Division became a separate department once again. 1949 report of the President. Unpublished draft in the possession of the RG70 archivist, prepared for/by the Office of the President, ca. 1949, p.2.
