Series consists of records created and maintained by the Finance Department and its predecessors. These include records of the Investment Committee including minutes, statements, reports, correspondence and policy files and records concerning budgets, costs and income analysis and statistics.

Also included are a small quantity of files from the Comptroller's Office (Vol. 454). These concern such subjects as the audit of the Air Canada Pension Fund, development of new routes and services, accounting methods, passenger marketing, and budgeting and cost control.

Air Canada. Finance Department : The Finance Department had the following responsibilities: "to provide services relating to: financial planning; provision of capital; budgets; receipt, custody, banking and disbursement of money; financial and operating statements and reports; financial auditing; taxation; payrolls and employee records; credit and collection; accounting; insurance; real estate; and architecture." In 1967, the department was headed by a Senior Vice President, W.S. Harvey. Condensed History of the Company. Unpublished draft in the possession of the RG70 archivist, prepared for/by Air Canada, Office of the President, Montreal, Que., 15 May 1967, p.4.
