Canadian Corporation for the 1967 World Exhibition. Public Safety Branch : The Public Safety Branch was responsible for the protection of life and property, the prevention of crime, the apprehension of offenders, and the enforcement of law and order, the establishment of a public health service, and the establishment of a Fire Fighting Service. The Public Safety Branch functioned as part of the Department of Operations which began with the appointment of its Director in November 1963. The Director was responsible for running Expo'67 from April 28 to October 29, 1967. By 1967, the structure of the Department of Operations consisted of the following branches: Public Safety, Concessions and Licensing, Visitors Services, Entertainment (World Festival), Business Development Bureau, Operations Staff Services, and La Ronde.
