Series consists of records created and maintained by the Secretary of the Corporation. The records include minutes from meetings of the following groups: Board of Trustees, 1966-1986, (Vols. 223-227); Executive Committee, 1967-1986, (Vols. 227-233); Audit Committee, 1980-1986, (Vol. 233); Accounts Committee, 1970-1971, (Vols. 233-234); Finance Committee 1969, (Vol. 234), and Management Committee 1971-1981, (Vols. 234-236). Volumes 236-240 contain miscellaneous files of the Secretary of the Corporation dating from 1969 to 1984.

National Arts Centre (Canada). Office of the Secretary of the Corporation : The Secretary of the Corporation is responsible for keeping the records of the NAC Board of Trustees and for attending to the correspondence of the Board. The Secretary also records and distributes the minutes of the proceedings at meetings of the Board of Trustees, the Executive Committee and other committees as required. Between 1969 and 1986, six people have acted as Secretaries of the Corporation (Richard Dennison, Brian Anthony, Peter Mills, Dan Stephenson, Len St. Aubin and Paul Despatie). The Executive Committee consists of the Chairman and the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees as well as at least three other trustees elected by the Board. The Executive Committee is empowered to exercise all the powers of the Corporation between meetings of the Board. The Board of Trustees is composed of a Chairman, Vice-Chairman, the Mayor of Ottawa, the Mayor of Hull, the Director of the Canada Council, the President of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, the Government Film Commissioner, and nine other members. Members of the Board are appointed by the Governor-in-Council. RG149 General Inventory
