Photographs collected for an issue on the theme of The Street and industrial design; urban views of Manhattan, Washington, New Orleans, Detroit, Ottawa, France, Italy; Rockefeller Plaza, Macy's, Corning Glass Works, Franklin Park; American and European industrial design for public environments, including lamp posts, street lights, telephone booths, emergency telephones, bus shelters, dog comfort stations(!), tree planters, benches, parks, parking meters, mail boxes, school playgrounds, stadium seating; Annual Award of the Society of Typographic Designers given to Norman McLaren of the National Film Board of Canada for his experimental work in animated typography: Charles S. Band, Governor of the NFB accepts the award on Mr. McLaren's behalf; Bruno Bobak in his studio; Charles Gagnon
