Sub-series consists of records created under the direction of R. Watson Sellar, Comptroller of the Treasury from 1932 to 1940. They document the plans and procedures from the operation of a Treasury Service in the event of mobilization of Canada's defence forces. (RG54, Vol.1)

Biography/Administrative history:

Sellar, Robert Watson, 1894-1965 : Robert Watson Sellar was born in 1894 at Huntingdon, Quebec. He served the federal government as Assistant Deputy Minister, Finance, 1930-1932, Comptroller of the Treasury, 1932-1940, and Auditor General of Canada, 1940-1959. He was a member of the Royal Commission on Government Organization, 1960. Sellar died on 4 January 1965. The Canadian Encyclopedia, 1985.
