Collection consists of photographs of views of Sous le Cap, Quebec, and of the Lievre River in and around Buckingham, Quebec as well as views of the Mississippi River near Almonte, Ont., taken by William Ide, W.J. Topley and R.B. Whyte, ca. 1890-1910; photographs taken before 1900 entitled: "Pembina River in the Swan Lake Indian Reserve", showing two men poling two canoes down the river with a woman seated in each canoe; "Manitoba City", showing CPR flat car with a load of traintrack in foreground, and "Ashley's Shanty"; views of several Canadian cities, as contained in an album entitled "Photographs/Grand Trunk System/Canada", ca. 1910.

Collection contains two posters produced by Canadian National Railways to promote emigration to Canada entitled: "It's Mine! CANADA: The Right Land for the Right Man: Canadian National Railways - The Right Way!" (work by G. Attewell; printed by Dudley, Spencer and Co., London); and "Canadian National Railways. A Farm in Canada" (printed by J. Weiner Ltd., London), ca. 1920-1930.

A print is also included entitled, "The Cairn raised by the Glengarry Highlanders in honour of Lord Seaton after his departure from Canada", drawn by Edward W. Battye (1817-1852) and published by W. Robert Dickinson (active ca. 1840-1845), 1846. Sir John Colbourne, Lord Seaton (died 1863), was a distinguished British military officer who lead the 52nd Regiment at Waterloo, and served in the Peninsular War. He was Lieutenant-Governor of Upper Canada from 1828 to 1836 and helped suppress the Lower Canadian rebellions of 1837-1839.
