There are 37 groups or single drawings on the folios, consisting of views of Montreal, portraits, and groups of caricature and figure studies relating to military life in Canada ca. 1824-1846.. Works by William Millikin (ca. 1800-1849).
The sketchbook is enclosed in a brown morocco leather-bound portfolio with brown interior and two sleeves for paper keeping: 42.1 x 27.4 cm..

By descent from the daughter of the creator, who married into the Wallace family in 1860.
