The 54-page album contains photographs of what are possibly family holidays in Canada and abroad in England, dated 1890-1910. Included are photographs of the original home of Sir William Mackenzie, in Kirkfield, Ontario (p.1-4).

Noteably, there are 15 albumen prints of Severn River, Muskoka (p.5-19) by Josiah Bruce, a celebated Canadian photographer from Toronto. The prints depict canoeing and portaging on the Severn River in [1894].

The rest of the album contains 38 photographs of interiors and exteriors of country estates and churches in England and Wales including photographs of an unidentified family (p.20-54). Some of the photographs may have been of the Clandon Park manor located in Guildford, Surrey in England, including its exteriors, interiors, gardens and the countryside around Guildford, Surrey. A photograph on p.43 contains an image that possibly depicts Count Ferdinand de Lesseps, 1805-1894, a French diplomat and engineer, who was involved in the construction of the Suez Canal and the Panama Canal. There is also a photograph that contains what is possibly an image of Count de Lesseps' son, Jacques de Lesseps (n.d.-1927) who was a notable Canadian aviator (p.46).

Additionally, the album includes a watercolour signed "Dora North" dated 19 July 1894 (p.39).

The fonds includes a portrait of Sir William Mackenzie done in 1919. Painted by H. Harris Brown, active 1889-following 1919, a British artist who displayed at the Royal Academy from 1889 onwards.

Mackenzie, William, Sir, 1849-1923 : Sir William Mackenzie, K. B. (1849-1923), born Kirkfield, Upper Canada; became a lumber businessman, and in 1888 entered into partnership with Sir Donald Mann to build the Canadian Northern Railway.
