Series documents the internal operations of the Toronto Stock Exchange and the Toronto Clearing House Ltd. Decisions of the Board of Governors (initially called the Managing Committee) and daily activities are recorded in corporate minutebooks, financial records, subject and correspondence files. The rules which regulated trading on the Exchange floor are detailed in TSE bulletin and rulings files.

The relationship between the TSE and its Member firms is also documented here. Member firms (otherwise known as stockbrokers) are licenced to buy & sell securities on behalf of their clients. They purchase a seat on the Exchange for the privilege of trading on the Exchange floor. The TSE monitored its member firms in a not always successful attempt to ensure fair dealing.
