Sub-series consists of records created and/or maintained by detachments connected to K Division. The sub-series includes a handwritten notebook kept by Constable Robert Hanock who was stationed at Maple Creek from 1894 to 1899. The notebook contains instructions on a constable's duties. Also included is a newspaper clipping from The Leader News, April 22, 1965, giving an historical account of the Montgomery's Landing Detachment, 1907-1911. The article was written by Vernon Charnetski in connection with the Saskatchewan Diamond Jubilee.

Royal Canadian Mounted Police. K Division (Alta.) : K Division was initially established in Battleford in 1885. It moved to Lethbridge in 1887 where it remained until 1932. In that year K Division was assigned to Edmonton where it is currently located under the direction of the Deputy Commissioner North West Region.
