Sub-sub-series consists of field office copies of Robinson-Huron Treaty annuity paylists and interest distribution paylists for the years 1897-1961. They are arranged chronologically. A system of paylist numbering was used in the Northern Superintendency, Division 1, and the Manitowaning Agency offices for the period 1897-1907 and this has been maintained as much as possible; from the gaps evident in the numbering it would seem that this set of paylists is incomplete. No such numbering system appears to have been used for the Gore Bay Agency paylists. Volume 12962 includes a paylist of an unknown type for the Garden River and Batchewana Bands of the Sault Ste. Marie Agency, 1928-1929.

Historically, paylists were created in triplicate with two copies sent to Ottawa and the third retained in the superintendency/agency office where the field officer would use them throughout the year to record events affecting family configuration or status. This information would then be used in the following year's payment process. Research has shown that the information contained in the field office copy of a paylist may differ from that found in the copy maintained at department headquarters and for this reason field office copies of paylists may be a useful complement to those records.
