J. Ney. His personal material consists largely of biographical writings; war, pension and medical records; awards and honours; appointment books; newspaper clippings; articles; and reflections and religious meditations written by him. The family material is primarily correspondence and clippings of family members like his wife Helen Ney, son Michael F. J. A. Ney, sister Rita Swain, brother Frank J. Ney, and nephews Frank Ney Jr., Philip Ney, and Peter Swaine. Some of the letters from his wife date from the period of their separation after 1940. There are also poignant files holding letters of condolence, clippings, and official records concerning the death of their son Michael who was killed in Kenya in 1954 while serving with the Kenyan Constabulary. Michael Ney had been educated at Ashbury College, Royal Roads and the University of Toronto.
