Geiger-Kullmann, Rosy, 1886-1964 : A composer and pianist of German origin, Rosy Geiger-Kullmann studied piano with Carl Friedberg, counterpoint with Iwan Knorr, composition with Bernhard Sekles and orchestration with Carl Schuricht. A recognized artist, she performed in Europe, Latin America and the United States. She moved to New York in 1940 and to California in the early 1960s. She composed over 500 songs, five operas, one oratorio, two symphonies, chamber music, and pieces for piano.
