Correspondence, book design, publicity: parties, launching, orders relating to Beny's projects, including plans for the Village of Souls by Philip Child with illustrations by Roloff Beny; An Aegean Notebook, Beny's first personally designed book comprising 20 original lithographs, material relating To Everything There is a Season.

Material relating to the design and production of Roloff Beny's sixteen books: An Agean Notebook (1950), Thrones of Earth and Heaven (1958), A Time of Gods (1962), Pleasure of Ruins (1964), To Everything There is a Season (1967), Japan in Colour (1967), India (1969), Island: Ceylon (1971), In Italy (1974), Persia: Bridge of Turquoise (1975), Iran: Elements of Destiny (1978), the Churches of Rome and Odyssey: Mirror of the Mediterranean (1981), Gods of Greece (1983).

Also documented are the posthumous books Rajasthan (1984), The Romance of Architecture (1985), and Iceland (1985).

The material includes the following sub-series, arranged under the title of the books to which they relate: notes; trip notes; expenses; correspondence (including correspondence with publisher and authors regarding texts); letters of introduction; official communications (including correspondence with the Shahbanou of Iran and with the governments of Iran, Japan, India, Ceylon, Pakistan); publishers' contacts, publication proposals, correspondence with Mondarori and other foreign publishers; book design ideas, dummies, galleys, texts, acknowledgements, forwards, proofs, jackets, layouts, plate notes, specifications, mock ups; publicity, promotional material, guest lists; reviews and comments, clippings and articles; research material used by Beny to provide a background to his projects.
