Portland Elevator Company : The Portland Elevator Company, owned by the Grand Trunk and financed by bonds sold in Portland, was incorporated under the laws of the State of Maine on 22 July 1896. A 1,000,000 bushel wooden grain elevator was constructed in Portland and leased to the Grand Trunk. The building was not used after 1933 and was demolished in 1943. On 16 March 1944 the Portland Elevator Company was dissolved. RG30 General Inventory
