Detroit, Grand Haven and Milwaukee Railway Company : The Detroit, Grand Haven and Milwaukee Railway Company had a number of predecessors.In 1848 the Oakland and Ottawa Railroad Company was chartered to build a road from Pontiac to Lake Michigan. The Detroit and Pontiac and the Oakland and Ottawa Railroads were amalgamated in 1855 to form the Detroit and Milwaukee Railway Company. An additional 183.97 miles of line were constructed between Pontiac and Grand Haven, it was finally completed in 1858. The name was changed to Detroit and Milwaukee Railroad Company in 1860 following large investments in the line by the Great Western. The Great Western obtained full control of the Company in 1878 when the name was once again changed to the Detroit, Grand Haven and Milwaukee Railway Company. It became a Grand Trunk property in 1882, and finally lost its corporate identity in 1928 when it became part of the Grand Trunk Western Railway Company. RG30 General Inventory
