Bay of Quinté Railway and Navigation Company : The Bay of Quinté Railway and Navigation Company was incorporated under Dominion Act, 46 Vic., Cap. 46 of 12 March 1881 to construct a railway in Hastings County and to operate vessels, docks and elevators. A 4.17 mile railway line between Sydenham and Harrowsmith was opened for traffic on 2 November 1893. On 23 April 1896 the company amalgamated with the Kingston, Napanee and Western Railway Company to form the Bay of Quinté Railway Company. RG30 General Inventory
