Niagara, St. Catharines & Toronto Railway Company : The Niagara, St. Catharines and Toronto Railway Company was incorporated under Dominion Act, 62-63 Vic., Cap. 77 of 11 August 1899. In the same year it acquired the line from Niagara Falls to St. Catharines of the St. Catharines and Niagara Central Railway. In 1902 it acquired the Niagara Falls, Wesley Park and Clifton Tramway Company and the 5.88 miles of line in St. Catharines of the Port Dalhousie, St. Catharines and Thorold Electric Street Railway Company (Limited). An additional 29.37 miles of line linking communities in the Niagara Peninsula were constructed between 1906 and 1914. The company was acquired by Mackenzie and Mann in 1908 and transferred by them to the Canadian Northern Railway in 1914. The company continued to operate rail and bus services after the formation of Canadian National Railways. On 14 December 1960 the Niagara, St. Catharines and Toronto Railway Company amalgamated with and took the name of the Canadian National Railway Company. RG30 General Inventory
