Various profiles, maps, and drawings have additional descriptions, including Grand Trunk Railway Engineering Department, or variations such as Drawing Office, Engineer Drawing Office, Hamilton or Montreal. Some of these are stamped and some are handwritten. In some cases, descriptions of municipalities are mounted on the recto and verso of the profile.

Note that most of the material from various accessions that contain maps and drawings from the 19th and early 20th centuries arrived at LAC quite dirty, and are in fragile condition. Conservation and Preservation work is ongoing.

RG30M 78903/51 was transferred in 1976, and RG30M 78903/72 was transferred in Nov. 1978, from the regional plan room of the Union Station, Toronto.

RG30M 78903/51 is accompanied by: List and Descriptions of Municipalities in the Province of Quebec / compiled by C. E. Deschamps. Book transferred to the National Library of Canada (FC2906.2 D48 1886).

RG30M 78903/72: Accompanying material in the acquisition documentation file includes two one-page letters and one other sheet providing additional history about the elevation drawing.

RG30M 945016: Item #3 includes a reference legend of the railways lines in Canada and the northeastern United States, and a track lengths chart. Acquisition documentation file includes: a 2 page letter, from the CNR, requesting confirmation of deposit of materials, and giving the history of the CNR Historical Museum Train; a 36 page typewritten inventory of items, for direct transfer #34, from vols. 12472 to 12582. Inventory lists the contents of the Museum Train. File does not state where the other maps and technical drawings in direct transfer #34 are now located.

Various architectural drawings and cartographic material signed by E.P. Hannaford and Joseph Hobson, chief engineers of the Grand Trunk Railway. Other names appear as well, but please see lower level descriptions for further details.
