The collection consists of two series: American Bank Note Company die proofs and philatelic memorabilia; and an additional tete beche composite.

The first series consists of die proofs in black, printed on card by the American Bank Note Company (New York), including: Queen Victoria "Numeral" issues (1898-1902), King Edward VII regular issues (1903-1908), Quebec Tercentennary issues (1908), and Historical Issue (June 1927). Also included are proofs for proposed but unissued (NANI) postage stamps, including: 4, 15, 50 cent Queen Victoria "Numeral" issue (1898-1902), and 1, 2, 5, 7, 10, 20 cents Cartier-McDonald Centennary (1914). The series has been arranged by issue and date order.

The second series contains memorabilia from the 62nd annual convention of the Royal Philatelic Society of Canada (RPSC), including a framed strip of 5 roll postage stamps (39 cents), official first day cover, and convention programme. The strip of 5 roll stamps was part of the ceremonial ribbon used to open the convention. It was acquired at an auction held during the convention.

The collection also contains a Canada Victoria (Large queens) tete-beche composite 2 cents die proof with 3 cents die essay, ca. 1867-1876.

Leggett, Arthur W : Arthur W. Leggett was born November 12, 1916. he is the son of Preston and Blanche Leggett. He was married to Hilda Pauline and had three children; Bryan, Christopher and Jason. Beside his fulltime occupation as a partner in Belmont Chevrelet Oldsmobile of Weston, has been involved in philately for many years. Arthur was a renown philatelist and stamp dealer. He died February 26, 2011.

As a collector, Mr. Leggett has won many awards at the International level. He has been active in the organization of BNAPS conventions in Toronto and a member of the organizing committees for CAPEX '78 and CAPEX '87.

He served for many years as a member of the executive for the Royal Philatelic Society of Canada. Mr. Leggett has been a member of the Expertising Committee of the Vincent G. Greene Philatelic Foundation as well as a member of the National Postal Museum Appraisal Committee. In 1984, he was named a Fellow of the Royal Philatelic Society of Canada and in 1986, he was elected to the Order of the Beaver (BNAPS).

He has co-authored or edited numerous books and publications on philatelic and postal history topics. BNA Topics, Jan.-Feb. 1986, p. 11.
