Collection contains two copies of the published set of eight lithographs entitled Sketches on the Nipisaguit, a river of New Brunswick, B.N. America, which show scenery along the Nipisaguit River in New Brunswick. It was published in 1860 by John B. Strong in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The lithographs were executed by F. Jones after watercolours by William Hickman and were also published in London, England by Day & Son. The final item in the fonds is a lithograph of Halifax, Nova Scotia also published by John B. Strong in 1860.

Hickman, William, fl. 1857-1863 : William Hickman (fl. 1857) was a topographer who toured Nova Scotia and New Brunswick in the company of Lord Mulgrave in ca. 1857. He did sketches during the tour and published a series of handcoloured lithographs under the title Sketches on the Nipisaguit, a river of New Brunswick, B.N. America.
