It consists of three sub-series: first, Subject-Numbered Correspondence; second, Policy, Briefing, and Reports, and third, House of Commons Personal Papers. This series documents the interplay, perhaps clash, of established views of resource development and business with new ideas on environment, native land claims, and alternate energy. These differing political perspectives were perhaps most clearly revealed - and most forcefully symbolized - by the Mackenzie Valley Pipeline and the Berger Commission. At that time, other issues were politically significant: wilderness preservation, solar energy, oil companies, wind energy, Atomic Energy of Canada, national parks, Eldorado Nuclear Ltd., and multi-national corporations. This series documents his - and the government's - views on and activities with business, resource development, alternate energy, environment, native land claims, and other Energy, Mines, and Resources issues during the four years 1975 until 1979.Source:Private -
