Sub-sub-series consists of index cards created by the Land Management Group (Realty) [formerly known as the Investment Portfolio Management Group] of Parks Canada. The index cards, filed under the 8599 block of Parks Canada subject-file classification system, represent the subject "Lease of Land - Licence of Operation - Permanent Residences". The index cards are arranged by park, townsite, lot block and lot number along with the street number or other formal location. The cards contain information documenting the chain of custody for each lease lot through hand-written recordings of assignment transactions. The index cards were originally mainatined in filing cabinet drawers. That structure has been reproduced insofar as each former drawer of the cabinets is contained within individual files within the volumes.

Canada. National Parks Service. Land Management Group (Realty) : Beginning with the first parcels of land set aside for the establishment of parks in 1885, the parks system, beginning under the Department of the Interior and later under the control of National Parks Service, has administered federal park land. The Land Management Group (Realty), formerly known as the Investment Portfolio Management, continues this role. Under the National Parks Act, the group is mandated to manage property acquisitions and disposals, contracts for architectural and engineering services and construction on properties within the boundaries of national parks territories.
