Canada. Canadian Army. Alberta Dragoons, 19th : One squadron of the 19th Alberta Dragoons (1st Divisional Cavalry) was mobilized on 6 August 1914 as the divisional cavalry for the 1st Canadian Division. The squadron was recruited in Edmonton and was commanded by Lieutenant-Colonel F.C. Jamieson.

The dragoons left Quebec in September 1914 aboard ARCADIAN and MONTREAL and arrived in England on 14 October 1914. Its strength was 6 officers and 171 other ranks. The squadron arrived in France on 12 February 1915 and became A Squadron of the Canadian Corps Cavalry Regiment on 19 May 1916.
