Canadian Army. Canadian Field Artillery. Battery, 28th : The 28th Battery, Canadian Field Artillery was organized in March 1915 under the command of Major R. Crocker under General Order 36 of 15 March 1915. The battery was mobilized at Fredericton and recruited in the Maritime Provinces.
The battery left Halifax on 9 August 1915 aboard METAGAMA. Upon its arrival in England on 18 August 1915, it became part of the 7th Brigade, 2nd Canadian Divisional Artillery. Its strength was 5 officers and 121 other ranks. The battery ceased to exist on 24 March 1917. Its personnel were absorbed by the 15th and 16th Batteries. The battery was disbanded by General Order 191 of 1 November 1920.
