sketchbook
The sketchbook is of unknown origin to date although it is thought to be done by an Inuit patient at the Ste. Anne's Hospital, Ste. Anne de Bellevue, Quebec in 1948. Susan Close has written a research paper on the sketchbook and it is included in the accession file..
This collection was transferred to us from MSS Division. The m aterial had been transferred without any accompanying documentation, and no accession information was available. Since the material has been dealt with in DAPD, MSS has created a record at their end..

Original extent note:

Scene entitled "After church, Christmas morn"., Scenes of hunting, animals, boats and activities relating to native life in Northern Quebec, as well as sketches relating to "Dick and Jane" books; Inuit language symbols. Work attributed to Levi, possibly an Inuit artist who may have been recuperating in a hospital at Ste. Anne de Beaupre in 1948.
