Canada. Canadian Army. Canadian Railway Troops. Battalion, 12th : The 2nd Canadian Labour Battalion, predecessor of the 12th Battalion Canadian Railway Troops (CRT), was organized at Seaford in January 1917 under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel A.C. Garner. The battalion arrived in France on 10 February 1917 where it worked mainly on broad gauge railways. It was redesignated as the 12th Battalion Canadian Railway Troops on 21 November 1917. Its authorization was published in General Order 63 of 15 June 1917. The battalion demobilized at Regina and was disbanded by General Order 196 of 1 November 1920.
