Sub-series consists of photographs taken during a tour of the Northern Canada by the photographer C.W. Mathers, one of the first professional photographers to venture in the north, ca. 1902; views of Toronto, 1908; Royal North West Mounted Police photos of the Arctic and Northwest Territories, February-May 1916; Captain Joseph Bernhard's photos of Arctic scenes, Inuit, and reindeer (in Siberia), 1922-1926; views of the North; miscellaneous photos of British Columbia, 1927-1928, primarily by H.M. Laing; Greenland and Baffin Island, July-August 1928; exploration of the Arctic, ca. 1928; B.C., July-September 1936; geological formations and flora in the Northwest Territories and Alaska; sealing fleets, ships, docks, harbourages, and crews, possibly Newfoundland, n.d.; and wildlife including bears, moose, caribou, musk oxen and other animals by miscellaneous photographers, chiefly photographed in Alberta and the Northwest Territories, ca. 1910-1945.
