Correspondence Series C comprises unbound papers, mostly pre-1850, received by the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel from North America, the West Indies, Australia, and other places, in the period 1705-1860, and preserved in the SPG archives. The National Archives holds selections consisting of letters received from Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Upper and Lower Canada, 1752-1860 (reels A-169 to A-214). Material relating to Nova Scotia, 1790-1850, in C.1/1 is also available in transcript (box 2, also available on reel H-1995). The calendars and indexes, 1936, for the papers, 1630-1811, relating to the American colonies (reel A-166) and the calendars and indexes, 1936-1946, for the material, 1752-1860, relating to British North America (reels A-167 to A-169) were also microfilmed.
