2 medals : 1 bronze, 1 aluminum.Language of material:EnglishScope and content:Series consists of sketchbooks containing drawings of west coast Indian artifacts and village sites done in conjunction with journeys made by Marius Barbeau to collect material for the National Museum as well as designs by Art Price who accompanied his father-in-law. Many of the artifacts are now in public collections in British Columbia and Washington state. Series consists of portraits of Marius Barbeau, A.Y. Jackson, and Philéas Bédard; a view of a Windmill, Ile aux Coudres, works by Charles Comfort. Series also contains the following works of art by Dalila Price: Christmas card designs, also by Caroline Price; costume designs for unidentified event; miscellaneous drawings of the Price family including Dede the cat, Dalila's son Toodlie at one year old, and self portraits; interior designs for the construction of the Price family home for kitchen, bedrooms, living room, etc.; designs for the refurbishing of a barn for the Art and Dalila Price Studio.
Series contains book illustrations by Art Price (mostly for Marius Barbeau books): "The Totem", "Les contes de grand-père sept-heures", "Alaska Beckons", "The Land of Canadian Folk Songs", "Sirens of the North", "I Have Seen Quebec", "Indian Days on the Western Prairies", "Pathfinders of the North Pacific", "Le rossignol y chante", "Medicine Men of the North Pacific", "Tsimsyan Myths Illustrated", "Le phoenix dore", Emblems of Nobility", "Slavic Cultures", "The Gwenhoot of Alaska", "Tresors des anciens jesuites", "Huron Wyandot", Totem Poles", "Le roi boit", "Traditional Narratives in translation". Series consists of other art work by Art Price: Army Show set designs from 1939-1945; designs for architectural and sculptural projects in the Ottawa area including the following: Astrolabe sculpture, Ottawa Public Library ceiling sculpture, Pt. Pelee National Park, Pedro the Panda of Carleton University, Ottawa Terminal Bldg, and City Police Tipp staff; Vanier Insitute medal, Governor General's Heritage Award, Rideau Club Coat of Arms, Manitoba dollar, B.C. dollar coin; prints and drawings in the following categories: native subjects, landscapes, seascapes, portraits, figures, abstracts, surrealist works, mythological subjects. Series consists of works by other artists such as drawings by Arthur Lismer, and a portrait of Marius Barbeau by Jori Smith, a watercolour of a Farm Near Simcoe by Edgar Cantelon.
