George Eastman House : The George Eastman House (International Museum of Photography and Film), is an independent nonprofit museum located in Rochester, New York. Formerly the estate of George Eastman (1854-1932), founder of Eastman Kodak Company, the museum was opened in 1949 and includes Eastman's restored house and gardens, an archives building and research center, galleries, two theaters, and an education centre. An educational institution that tells the story of photography and motion pictures, the George Eastman House displays the art, technology, and impact of photography and motion pictures over 150 years, and interprets the life of George Eastman.
