Fonds consists of two programs produced and broadcast by CKOY, The talk of the town, with host Mac Lipson, and a demonstration transcription for a program that would be called Canadian Tire house party, with host John McTundell. Also included is a series of other radio programs, not produced by CKOY, such as The Eddy Arnold show, The hi-fi club show, The Duke Ellington show, and a number of advertisements of local or national origin that were broadcast by the station.

CKOY (Radio station : Ottawa, Ont.) : CKOY, an Ottawa-based radio station, was established in 1922 by Dr. George McKinley Geldert under the call letters CKCO. On 1 June 1949 Southam Publishing purchased CKCO from Dr. Geldert, and the call letters changed to CKOY. Permission was given in 1973 to transfer 31% of the issued shares of CKOY Ltd. from the Estate of the late Hon. Cairine Wilson and Cairine M. Wilson to 264527 Ontario Ltd. (owned by four Ottawa residents). 264527 Ontario Ltd. thus held 54.3% of CKOY Ltd., with Southam Press Ltd. holding 37.86%. In 1978 Maclean-Hunter Ltd. purchased CKOY. In January 1980, CKOY Ltd. and CKEY Ltd. merged into Key Radio Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Maclean-Hunter Ltd. CKOY dropped its adult-contemporary-news-talk and sports format on 31 December 1985, and was reborn on 1 January 1986 as oldies-formatted CIWW W1310. On 19 December 1994, the CRTC approved the purchase of Maclean-Hunter Ltd. by Rogers Communications Inc. and CIWW became a Rogers Broadcasting station. "Ontario CKOY Ottawa."
