Collection consists of moving images and sound recordings with a Canadian connection from the holdings of the National Archives and Records Administration. Included are speeches and talks by American Presidents F.D. Roosevelt and Harry Truman and Canadian Prime Minister W.L.M. King and R.B. Bennett about relations between Canada and the United States. The collection also includes radio programs on the coronation ceremonies of King George VI broadcast by the BBC in 1937 and on his visit to Canada in 1939 broadcast by the CBC, as well as the sound documentaries War on the Ether; shortwave propaganda broadcasts from Axis Powers (1974); Sound of history (1972 and 1975); and On the homefront: American radio goes to war 1941-1945 (1976).
