Fonds consists of films and video recordings, produced by or for Bell Canada, dealing with all aspects of telephone company management from marketing, public and staff relations and training to technical operations and communications theory. The history of telephone communications and the development of the telephone are considered in a number of films. Also included are sound recordings of: telephone conversations before and after the inauguration of the Anik I satellite; the proceedings of the inauguration ceremony of the new Anik I telephone service; and news reports by Bill Cummings, U.S. reporter, about the launching of the Anik II satellite from Cape Kennedy.

Photographic material depicts: events and activities associated with the history of the telephone and the activities of Bell Canada; the laying of the world's first international submarine line between Detroit, Michigan and Windsor, Ontario, 11 July 1881; Dr. Alexander Bell and associates; transmission towers and antennae across Canada; microwave tower on Lost Mountain, British Columbia; operations building and antenna tower on Mid-Canada Line, Manitoba; tower with horn antenna in Olive, Ontario; troposheric scatter antennae in Emeril, Quebec; J. Alaistair Bowman of Maritime Telegraph & Telephone Co. Ltd. using earphones to listen for word from men trapped in mine disaster, Moose River, Nova Scotia, 1936; Nakie Tiglee tries out newly installed phone at her home in Akalvit near Frobisher Bay, Northwest Territories, 1964.
