Fonds consists of programs from the Toronto radio station CHUM including documentaries, news reports, editorial reports, election coverage, poetry recordings, and commercials.

Also included in fonds are six short television programmes based on unpublished plays by Canadian authors for the television series entitled Windows.

CHUM FM (Radio station : Toronto, Ont.) : CHUM was established on 28 October 1944 as part of York Broadcasters Ltd. The station originally broadcast daytime programs only. In December 1954 CHUM was purchased by Allan Waters. On 27 April 1959, after several moves and format changes, York Broadcasters Ltd./CHUM became known as Radio CHUM-1050 Ltd. In 1967 CHUM-1050 Ltd. became publicly traded as CHUM Limited on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Today, CHUM Limited is one of Canada's leading media companies and content providers. CHUM owns and operates 28 radio stations, eight local independent television stations, 17 specialty channels as well as an environmental music distribution division.
