Series contains clippings of profiles on and articles mentioning Gowdy as well as reviews of Gowdy's work. Also included are copies of some periodicals containing Gowdy's work, as well as a copy of a privately published, limited edition of her story Flesh of My Flesh and bound uncorrected page proofs of Disneyland. The graphic material consists of posters publicizing Gowdy and her writing and readings. Included are two author's portraits and posters for 'Writers on Tour - Writers from Canada', the Trillium Book Award, Celebrating Excellence in Ontario Writing, Mister Sandman, the Giller Prize, the Marian Engel Award, and Harper Flamingo Canada.

Additional material includes Somerville House's press coverage of Mister Sandman from Bowden's and copies of Canadian and international reviews of The White Bone.

Series includes reviews of the documentary on elephants produced for the Discovery Channel. It also includes correspondence regarding promotional coverage and events, foreign coverage and correspondence regarding a PEN benefit. Series includes videotaped interviews and profiles of Gowdy, as well as a recording of a speech Gowdy delivered in receipt of the Marian Engel Award and two profiles of Gowdy created for the Giller Prize (1995 and 1998).

Series also contains correspondence about publicity tours to promote Gowdy's books, including tour itineraries. Also in this series are invitations to award ceremonies, such as the Giller Prize and Griffin Poetry Prize, and book launches. Includes annotated copies of entries for the 2007 CBC Literary Awards that Gowdy helped jury. AV records for this series include a panel at the Toronto International Film Festival about adapting books into movies that Gowdy participated in, and an interview with Marni Jackson for Book TV to promote the release of Helpless.
