Series consists of Assistant Deputy Minister's registry files containing information on a number of committees, boards, task forces and tripartite meetings concerning policy formulation involving Mr. A.B. Morrison, then Assistant Deputy Minister of the Health Protection Branch (HPB). The records were filed in block 9000 of the central registry.

The subjects covered are diverse yet comprehensive and collectively provide an excellent overview of department activities and functions at this senior level. Included therefore are files detailing ADM participation in HPB policy discussions regarding such branch concerns as nutrition, consumption, inspection, research and testing etc. In short, virtually all activities falling under the HPB's mandate.

Those topics discussed include the following: toxic chemicals in food substances, pesticide residues, food standards and nutrition guidelines, food and drug recalls, toxicology, and drug inspection procedures. Among the numerous committees, boards, associations etc. included are the Club of Five, Drug investigation and Submission Committee, Advisory Council of Consumers, Proprietary Association of Canada, and many others.
