artistic material Printed volumes relating to the Life of the Honourable Alexander Mackenzie, second Prime Minister of Canada, containing autographs, maps and plans, portraits and views. There was one volume of text with several images within, as well as two volumes of loose prints, numbered in a sequential order. Volume I contains 57 prints, 95 reproductions, 7 manuscripts, and 3 maps; Volume II contains 57 prints, 102 reproductions, 4 manuscripts, and 5 maps..
artistic material The book was originally grangerized in four parts, but was conserved in 1984-1985, and rebound into one volume of text and two volumes of illustrations kept loose..
The grangerized volumes were probably acquired prior to 1922, but they were catalogued only on that date, and no prior record of acquisition can be located..
The prints include 29 engravings, 22 etchings, 31 lithographs, 31 wood engravings.
The reproductions include 71 photographs, 98 photogravures, 53 heliogravures, 40 photolithographs.

artistic material . The illustrations were inserted into the book at appropriate locations, and numbered sequentially . Removed and numbered in sequence as they appeared in the book .
