General note:

Accession consists of plans that had been identified by the Dept. of National Defence as useful for model making purposes, hence the term "model makers collection". Included in this collection are plans for the RCMP vessel St. Roch, 1942-1944.
Accession is arranged by class of vessel - capital ships, aircraft carriers, cruisers, armed merchant cruisers, destroyers, frigates, corvettes, minesweepers, icebreakers, motor topedo boats, landing craft, RCMP, tugs, merchant and supply ships, armed yachts, and trawlers.

Custodial history:

Accession was transferred in Sept. 1983 from the Directorate of Publishing and Graphic Services, formerly the Directorate of Documentation & Drawing Services, of the Dept. of National Defence.
