Also included in fonds are 5 watercolours and 1 oil painting of ships involved in trade between Canada and Jersey (Channel Is., Great Britain); and 2 photo engravings of local costumes from Bavaria and Brittany.
In addition, fonds includes travelogues to Japan, Korea, Cambodia, Bermuda and, closer to home, the Gaspé Peninsula. The camera accompanies several youngsters on a voyage through the Ontario heartland on the pleasure cruiser "Nomad". The various news highlights date back to the early 1950s.Provenance:Biography/Administrative history:McKie, Lady : Phyllis Gertrude Ross was born in Montreal, Canada to Mr. and Mrs. John Ross. On 28 September 1929 she married Gerald Walker Birks, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Birks, of Montreal, Quebec. She married her second husband, Sir William McKie, in Westminster Abbey, 5 April 1956. Lady McKie was a well known Canadian photographer and writer. Her published works include The Seaflower Venture, the life story of Charles Robin. She also traveled extensively throughout her life.
