This accession consists of operational records created and/or inherited by the Brandon District Office from its predecessor, the Portage La Prairie agency, of Indian and Northern Affairs Canada between 1950-1971. Subjects covered by operational files include but are not limited to the following: Leases; Miscellaneous Land Matters; Rights of Way; Surveys and Reserves; and Individual Case Files (Loans and Estates - General). The files are arranged numerically according to the department's old modified duplex numeric file classification system.
