Sub-series consists of records related to the work of the Advisory Committee on Radiological Protection (ACRP). Included are background documents from the committee, meeting minutes, background documents from the committee's working groups, committee publications, etc. These textual materials are in boxes 1-29 of the linked accession.

Sub-series also consists of sound recordings of the proceedings of the 88th meeting of the ACRP, held 22 January 2001 (2002-0072 VSA). Present at the meeting were: Dr. J.B. Sutherland (Chair); Dr. D.B. Chambers (Vice-chair); Dr. A.A. Driedger; Dr. J. Hébert; Dr. H.M. Johnson; Mrs. L. Normandeau; Mr. P.F. O'Brien; Dr. R.V. Osborne; Dr. M. Plante; Dr. S. Vlahovich; Dr. J.F. Lafortune; Dr. K.Y. Wong; and Dr. R.J. Woods.

Sub-series consists of unprocessed administrative records (chiefly electronic) relating to ACRP scattered throughout boxes 30-32 of the linked accession. In addition to electronic administrative files, books included in those accession boxes feature a listing of documents from ACRP for its 26th to 55th meetings, as well as from a few of its working groups from the period 1987-1990.

Sub-series also consists of a sub-sub-series for the Subcommittee on Risk Estimates' meeting minutes and background documents, dating from the 1980s.

Canada. Advisory Committee on Radiological Protection : The purpose of the Advisory Committee on Radiological Protection (ACRP) was to advise the Board on the basis and adequacy of regulatory documents related to radiological protection; the interpretation and application of international recommendations on radiation protection standards; recommendations on research related to radiological health protection; and broad radiation protection issues associated with the regulatory activities of the board. Working groups were established by the ACRP on topics like Risk Estimates, Basic Principles of Radiation Protection; Radiation Risk and Dosimetry; Management of Radiation Workers; Institutional Factors in Radiation Protection and Dose Reduction; etc.
