This series contains typescripts of his articles, scrapbooks of clippings of his printed articles and scripts of his radio and television broadcasts. Typescripts of newspaper articles, often with original comments and editorial changes by Halton, show his prolific output for the Toronto Star and the Toronto Star Weekly, and other Canadian and European publications. Halton's most significant series of newspaper articles included the Canadian series (1952-1953); articles for the Kemsley Newspapers of Britain (1944); the post-war Germany series (1950-1955); and the Yugoslavia series (1950). Scrapbooks of clippings of Halton's printed newspaper articles complete the picture of his career in print journalism. Note that in a few instances Dyba and Thomas inserted photocopies of newspaper articles missing from the scrapbooks, having copied them from the Toronto Metropolitan Library. This series also contains scripts of his CBC and BBC radio broadcasts, often with original comments and editorial changes, and transcripts of radio broadcasts typed by Dyba and Thomas. Several groupings of broadcasts include BBC Broadcasts (ca. 1949-1955); CBC Broadcasts (ca. 1940-1956); Capital Reports, News Roundup and Report on Britain Broadcasts (1946-1956) and the Yugoslavia series (1950). Halton also produced several television broadcasts (ca. 1953, 1956) that are documented here. Also in this series are CBC broadcasts about Halton by fellow correspondents (1956-1978). Note that there may be duplication of articles and broadcast scripts and many dates have been estimated.
