This album, comprised of 43 pages on which 79 photographs are mounted, contains the same images of the 1949 Eastern Arctic Patrol found in album 37, just as album 38 contained copies of the 1948 Eastern Arctic Patrol found in album 37. The pages are tabbed and arranged by place, from A (Arctic Bay) to L (Little Whale River). Photos by S.J. Bailey. See description of album 37 (MIKAN 204923) for more detail.

The following places can be found in the album: Arctic Bay; Baker Lake; Belcher Islands (aerial too); Beverly Lake; Gulf of Boothia; Little Whale River; Cape Smith (aerial too); Cape Hope Islands; Fort George; Great Whale River (aerial); Gulf Lead Mines (aerial); Hudson's Bay Company outpost, Belcher Island.

The following events can be found in the album: Inuit smoking cigarettes; bannock experiment; Dr. L. Amyot extracting a tooth; Inuit shooting with rifle; Inuit man playing guitar; Natives playing game of chance; Native woman using binoculars; Jim Houston showing Inuit one of his drawings; Inuit making canoes and boats; Inuit woman carrying water using yoke; drying sealskins; Constable van Blarcom speaking with Inuit.
