The sub-series documents Samuel Rollin Hesson's activities as stockholder, speculator and investor in various companies, mostly dealing with mining and drilling. In addition, it documents Hesson's role as president of the following: the Dominion Providential, Benevolent and Endowment Association (DPB&EA); the Stratford Exploration and Development Company; the Stratford Gas Company. It also documents Hesson's role as board member of the Canadian Power Company and as trustee of the Stratford and Huron Railroad Company.
