The works by Lockerby include five sketchbooks in addition to other watercolours and drawings. A number of the works are from Lockerby's art school days, and there are a few drawings relating to the First World War, including a sketch of Red Cross Nurse. As well there are many drawings that appear to be preliminary designs for greetings cards. A selection of the final greeting cards designed by Lockerby are also included.
The works by other artists include drawings, watercolours, and greeting cards by William Clapp, F. Dennett Nutter, Rita Mount, Sarah Robertson, Norah Collyer, Fritz Btandtner, and some unidentified individuals. A number of the drawings and watercolours are from Lockerby's friends at art school. In particular, she kept a number of caricatures by F. Dennett Nutter who satirized both art students and art teachers.
The photographs include portraits of Mabel Lockerby, her mother and other women artists of the Beaver Hall Hill Group, including Sarah Robertson; group photos of nursing sisters during the First World War, including Mabel Lockerby; group photos of student sketching classes at the Art Association of Montreal including one photo of a male model, ca. 1904.Source:Private -
