de Marky, Paul, 1894-1982 : Originally from Hungary, Paul de Marky arrived in Canada in 1924. He taught piano at the McGill Conservatorium of Music in Montréal from 1929 to 1937. He performed as a concert pianist in Europe, Canada (he was very popular on the Montréal stage in the thirties and forties), and the United States. He composed works for piano and orchestra (Ballad, The Trans Atlantic), as well as songs.
