This collection comprises a 35mm feature and fifteen 16mm short films from the private collector Bill Sturrup.

Sturrup, Bill : These 15 films were the only Canadian titles in a collection acquired in 1998, by Bill Sturrup and another collector from a man named Bob Burt in Whitby, Ontario. Mr. Burt told archivist D. J. Turner he had some 100 to 150 16mm films, shorts and features. His grandfather was wealthy, collected films, and had built a screening room in his home. The collection comprised B features from the thirties and forties such as THE BRIGHTON STRANGLER, THE SPEED REPORTER and ROARING ROADS. Other titles included the 8th and 9th Victory Bond films as well as three or four German features. Mr. Burt had to move and wanted to find a home for the collection.
