Atlas consists of map segments, mostly of Alberta, each bearing: an E.D.# (Electoral district), an E.A.# (enumeration area) a sample number, and a segment number.

For most segments in the atlas, there are two leaves: one leaf with the map cut down to show only one small area, and with the leaf stamped "Property of the Census Division, Dominion Bureau of Statistics, To be returned"; the other leaf showing the area in slightly larger context.

The non-Alberta maps included, loose-leaf, in atlas are for E.D. numbers 204, 205, and 211. Also included is a listing of Saskatchewan E.D.s

Atlas title supplied by the title of the file binding the atlas.

Note on the state of conservation:

Atlas has several loose leaves and needs some conservation work.

Custodial history:

Atlas transferred from Statistics Canada in 1980.

Dates of creation note:

Date of creation unknown. Atlas was transferred from along with maps related to the 1951 census. Given that 17 E.D.s are listed for Saskatchewan, and at least 17 E.D.s features among leaves for Alberta, the atlas likely was created between 1952 and 1966.
